Over the weekend the new Muppet movie, The Muppets, was released in the UK, and during a press conference Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy were asked about Fox News accusing the movie of having a bias against big oil, and pushing a "dangerous liberal agenda" at children.
Here is the original report that aired late last year, accusing the movie of unfairly portraying a successful business man, in this case oil tycoon Tex Richman, as the bad guy.
This actually aired...as in two grown men actually spoke to each other at length about how a movie made for children, featuring puppets and an over-exaggerated villain, was part of a dastardly political smear campaign, instigated and controlled by liberal-run Hollywood, designed to turn children against big oil. And then it keeps going...
Earlier this week I...well everyone...reported that Demi Moore had been hospitalized, and that she was going to be entering a treatment facility to deal with potential substance abuse issues. It was TMZ who first broke the substance abuse story, although there had been rumours flying around since last fall that Demi's marriage to actor Ashton Kutcher had hit the rocks in part because she had relapsed after decades of sobriety.
Now TMZ is reporting that the reason Demi had to be hospitalized was that she had a seizure from inhaling a dangerous amount of nitrous oxide. In other words, she was doing whip-its.
Last week I posted a video of 8 year old Juliet and her song "My First Hardcore Song". So who is this week's 8 year old prodigy? Guitarist Zoe Thomson, of course.
Check out Zoe playing an exerpt from Stratosphere, a song by her group, Mini Band, whose ages range from 8 - 11, and who have already garnered the praise of metal legends Metallica.
Beleaguered Hollywood actress Demi Moore was rushed to hospital Monday night after paramedics were called to her home. The official word from Demi's reps is that she is entering a treatment facility to deal with "exhaustion", but TMZ is claiming that substance abuse is a factor.
TMZ: "Sources tell us she is being placed in a facility to 'seek further professional assistance.' Our sources say the treatment is for substance abuse."
Demi's rep: "Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."
Most of us assume that rabbits eat carrots, with maybe a bit of lettuce for variety. It's widely thought that they need this strict diet helps to produce their famous "creme eggs."
Now, however, footage has been unearthed that seems to prove that the odd banana is also part of the equation. Perhaps it gives the eggs their yolk-like appearance, no one is quite sure.
Anyway, here is the controversial footage proving that bunnies eat bananas.
Is this a hoax? CGI? Some sort of lobbying for the cut-throat banana industry? You be the judge.
Much like the music industry, the film industry has felt the grip of the digital age tighten in the past decade. After a century of film distribution, photography pioneer Kodak filed for bankruptcy protection on Thursday.
A bankruptcy judge has approved the borrowing of an initial $950 million from Citigroup Inc. to keep operations running while the company tries to find ways to restructure itself to compete in a digital market. The company has until Feb. 15 of next year to sort itself out.
With it's 35mm film being the norm for shooting movies throughout the 20th century, Kodak is said to have been generating up to $500 million annually at it's peak. But by the late 1990s the digitization of movies became prevalent, eventually rendering Kodak's staple 35 mm film a relic of the past.
Ok, I feel bad for posting that really bad video, so here are 11 dogs barking "The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)" from Star Wars. Actually, there are 12 dogs, but one only shows up at the end, and barely contributes.
Since today saw many websites go dark in protest of SOPA and PIPA for 24 hours, I know a lot of people have been totally bored by the internet. So I decided to find the worst video I have ever seen, and share it with you. It's totally SFW, there's nothing gross about it, it's just a really bad song, with an even worse video. So, if you've got 3 minutes and 50 seconds to waste, here's IMDABES.
This past weekend, singer Lana Del Rey performed on Saturday Night Live, and the response has been an overwhelming thumbs down. Now the guest host of the show, actor Daniel Radcliffe, has come to her defence, claiming that her performance was not as bad as people are saying, and that she is being judged unfairly.
Del Rey, who has also released music under her real name, Lizzy Grant, is the daughter of a millionaire. Her father helped pay for the initial marketing of her career, and this seems to be a point of contention. The fact that she changed her name to Lana Del Rey at the suggestion of her management, and comes from hipster heaven (Brooklyn) has lead people to claim she's manufactured.
Radcliffe has his own take on the performance: "It was unfortunate that people seemed to turn on her so quickly...I also think people are making it about things other than the performance. If you read what people are saying about her online, it's all about her past and her family and stuff that's nobody else's business...I don't think it warranted anywhere near that reaction."
